Nursing Programs in B.C.
All programs are very competitive. Nonacademic prerequisites usually include: volunteering, first aid certificate, CPR certificate, immunization record, criminal record check, TB test etc.
Preference will be given to applicants with: Academic grades above the minimum and related experience.
BCIT:
Grade 12 students must apply to the Academic Foundations Certificate first. You cannot apply straight into the Nursing program from high school.
Chemistry 11 (73%), Math: one of the following: Principals of Math 11 (73%) or 12 (67%), Applications of Math 12 (73%), Foundations of Math 11 (73%) or 12 (73%), Pre-Calc 11 (73%) or 12 (67%).
Camosun College – Deadline to apply: November 30th
English 12 (B), One of Foundations of Math 11 (B) or Pre-Calc 11 (B), or Foundations of Math 12 (B) or Pre-Calc 12 (B), and Chemistry 11(B) or Chemistry 12 (B), and Biology 12 (B)
College of the Rockies – Deadline to apply: March 1st

Grade 12 students must apply to the Academic Foundations for Potential Nursing first.
English 12 B or better, Biology 11 or 12 B or better and Foundations or Pre Calc of Math 11 or 12 B or better
High school students will submit their interim grades on May 7, 2018. They will review the students a week later (the week of May 14) in case students have to submit their interims by paper. Once they have all the interims, the students will be ranked based on their GPA for the 3 admission requirements and then the top 25 students will get conditionally accepted for fall 2018. The rest of the students who have met their requirements will be put on the wait list.
Kwantlen Polytechnic University – Deadline to apply: March 1st (opens Nov. 1st)
High school students must apply to the Health Foundations Certificate Program first.

Langara College

Thompson Rivers University – Deadline to apply: January 30th (opens Oct. 1st)
English 12 (73%), Foundations of Math 12 or Pre-Calc 12 and Chemistry 11 (C+) and Biology 12 (C+) and one other Grad 11 or 12 Science course (C+).
Trinity Western University – Deadline to apply: February 28th
English 12 (C+), Pre-Calc 11 or Foundations(C+), Biology 12 (C+), Chemistry 12 (C+). B average in all courses.
University of British Columbia
Third year entry. Must have at least 48 credits towards a degree in another field and has achieved at least a 2.8 (70%) grade point average on the most recent 30 credits completed. Also has completed first year English and Biology 153 or an equivalent human anatomy and physiology course.
University of British Columbia – Okanagan – January 15th
English 12, Biology 12, Chemistry 12 plus one other academic approved grade 12 course. In addition, you need Biology 11, Chemistry 11 and Foundations or Pre-Calc 11 or 12.
University of the Fraser Valley – Deadline to apply: January 31st
English 12 (B), Either Foundations of Math 11 (C+) or Foundations of Math 12 (C+) or Pre-Calc 11 (C+), Biology 12 (C+) and Chemistry 11 (C+). An option is to do your LPN first and transfer into the Nursing program.
University of Northern British Columbia – Deadline to apply: March 31st
English 12 (67%) and Foundations of Mathematics 11 or Pre-Calc 11 or Foundations of Mathematics 11 (65%), Chemistry 11 (67%), Biology 12 (73%) and two other approved * Grade 12 courses and a fifth Grade 12 course (67%)
University of Victoria
Third year entry with at least a 3.0 (C+) grade point average.
Vancouver Community College
High school students must take the University Transfer Pathway to Health Sciences Certificate first.
